Waiver Wire Watch List: Week 3

Quarterback: For week 3 all quarterback needy teams must add Ryan Fitzpatrick. I am all aboard the Fitzmagic train after still having questions last week about whether or not he can continue to have strong production. Fitzpatrick has totaled 89.26 fantasy points in two games, according to Yahoo Fantasy Football, and is facing an awful Steelers defense this coming week. In their past two games, the Steelers defense has allowed seven touchdown passes. Fitzpatrick has a favorable matchup and is on fire, and if no one has claimed him in your league already, make sure you do.

Running Back: After two straight weeks with a touchdown, Javorius “Buck” Allen is a solid choice for teams who are in need of a flex, or running back option. In the first two weeks of the season, the Ravens have relied on Allen for the goal line carries rather than Alex Collins, and they still prefer to use Allen more in the passing game. Allen has totaled five receptions in both of his games, which is beneficial in all PPR format.

Wide Receiver: Second round pick Dante Pettis is a player you should target if you are in need of a receiver. Marquise Goodwin was out last week with a quad injury and could possibly be out this week, but even if he plays, Pettis will likely continue to have a big role and receive his fair share of targets. The 49ers also play a weak Chiefs defense that allowed the Steelers to score 37 points on them.

Tight End: If OJ Howard isn’t already on a team heading into week 3, he is a must target for anyone looking for an upgrade at tight end. He tore up the Eagles defense with 96 yards and a touchdown, and faces a struggling Steelers defense this week. As long as Fitzpatrick remains hot, I expect solid production from Howard.
